Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a great way to enhance the appearance and texture of your skin. Peels are designed to stimulate collagen production and also revive and refresh the skin. They are great for exfoliating skin without downtime, removing dull, lifeless superficial layers of skin to reveal a glowing, fresher, smoother complexion. Chemical peels are used to reduce the appearance of the following:

  • Acne- including blackheads and whiteheads
  • Pigmentation- including melasma and freckling
  • Sunspots, sundamage and age spots.
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

What to expect

Chemical Peels are usually done in lots of 3-6 sessions usually 2-4 weeks apart. What you can expect in the first 24hrs is:

  • Mild redness to the skin
  • A tight, dry feeling to the skin
  • Mild itching

3-4 days after the peel:

  • Mild itching
  • Mild to moderal skin peeling/flaking
  • Minor breakout

A sunscreen should be applied daily to optimise and reduce any risks of pigmentation developing after your treatment and to prevent any further sun damage.

Skin should be kept well hydrated. This will also help with the exfoliation process.

Our Chemical Peels at The Alexandra Clinic are complemented by using the ENERPEEL range.
