Fees

General Dermatology

The Alexandra Clinic is a private clinic and does not bulk bill consultations. A consultation fee will be quoted at the time of making an appointment. Our fees are based on AMA recommended fees. Aged pensioners receive a discount. We accept Department of Veteran Affairs Gold card as full payment of fees due.

Additional costs may arise if other services are performed during the consultation (such as a skin biopsy or freezing of sun spots). Costs for surgical procedures vary and will be quoted according to the individual case. Private patients incur an out of pocket expense (or gap) above the Medicare rebate. Medicare rebates are obtainable only if you have a valid referral from your general practitioner on the day of your consultation.

Cosmetic Dermatology

Cosmetic procedures are quoted depending on the individual case. Cosmetic procedures such as chemical peels, Botulinum toxin injections and fillers (hyaluronic acid injections) as well as most laser treatments do not receive a Medicare rebate.

A referral is not required for a purely cosmetic consultation. If you are unsure if you require a referral (which will make you eligible for a medicare rebate) please contact the clinic for further advice.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation. The Alexandra Clinic accepts cash, cheques, Visa, Mastercard, and EFTPOS.
